Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy is investigating a massive data breach disclosed by Snowflake, a cloud computing company that hosts the information of hundreds of other companies. Hackers may have been circulating stolen customer data for months. Criminal hackers have claimed responsibility for the multiple breaches of Snowflake customers, which includes full names, physical addresses, dates of birth, drivers license information and other government-issued identification numbers, as well as customer purchase records.
Snowflake insists that its systems are secure, yet the lists of its customers whose information has been compromised in growing daily, with one investigative company, Mandiant, suggesting that over 165 companies who use Snowflake for cloud computing have likely been compromised.
