CPM is Investigating a Massive Data Breach at A&A Services, dba SAV-RX

CPM is investigating a massive data breach at A&A Services, dba SAV-RX. SAV-RX provides pharmacy benefits and claims to be “the nation’s largest provider of products and services to help individuals with mobility limitations” (https://savrx.com/story/). SAV-RX has admitted that on or about October 8, 2023, its systems were breached and the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of nearly three million consumers was stolen. The information taken in the breach included name, address, date of birth and Social Security Number, as well as Protected Health Information (PHI). SAV-RX posted this notice of the data breach on its website.

While SAV-RX discovered the breach in October 2023, it inexplicably waited over seven months before beginning to notify affected consumers in late May, 2024.  This left consumers at serious risk of identity theft and other misuse of their PII and PHI.
