CPM Achieves Class Action Settlement with ProSolutions, a Debt Collection Company

News

CPM has reached a proposed class action settlement with debt collection company ProSolutions. The action alleged that ProSolutions participates in unlawful debt collection practices in violation of federal and California law. The proposed settlement provides for: 1) substantial changes in ProSolutions’ practices and procedures; 2) 40% debt relief to Class Members with open accounts; and 3) a cash settlement fund. Through the settlement, ProSolutions has agreed to change essentially all of its business practices that gave rise to the litigation. The settlement must still be approved by the Court. The case is being handled by CPM attorney Justin Berger, Emanuel Townsend and paralegal Caitlin McDonough, along with co-counsel Housing and Economic Rights Advocates (HERA).
