Unanimous Jury Award for CPM Client

CPM’s Justin Berger and Eric Buescher won a jury trial on behalf of a local businessman for $447,000 in a hotly disputed business case. The defendant, who owns an advertising billboard, had refused to pay full rent according to his interpretation of the a lease agreement. It was alleged that the defendant was just trying to delay payment to leverage the small business owner plaintiff. Berger and Buescher convinced the jury the defendant had failed to act in good faith. The jury’s verdict was unanimous and awarded CPM’s client all the back rent he was owed, plus additional damages. The case was rewarding as a small business owner, with CPM at his side, fought all the way to verdict to get justice.
