Overview
Shawn Bahmani is an associate attorney at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, based in the firm's Santa Monica office. He focuses on representing clients in cases involving, mass torts, defective products, false claims & whistleblower law, personal injury, wrongful death, toxic torts, contamination, and environmental justice. Early in his career, Shawn gained valuable experience working as a full-time law clerk for a renowned defense firm, advocating on behalf of defendants. His legal foundation was further solidified during his time as in-house counsel for a financial services company, where he developed extensive expertise in corporate and employment law. Before joining Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, Shawn practiced at an entertainment and business litigation firm. He also worked at a homeowner’s association firm, representing homeowner’s associations in both transactional and litigation matters.
Shawn earned his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and his B.S. in financial services from San Diego State University. While in law school, he dedicated significant pro bono work to Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, providing legal assistance to underrepresented individuals. He also pursued advanced training in mediation and dispute resolution at Humboldt University in Berlin.
Outside of his legal career, Shawn enjoys playing basketball with family and friends, training in Muay Thai, playing chess online, and watching foreign and independent films. He is also an avid golfer.
